Why wear a bridal corset

While the days of pure whites for the wedding night that implied a bride’s virginal purity have (mostly) passed, wearing white for your wedding day (and night) is still common. Because of this, there’s an impressive array of white lingerie to complement the bridal outfit available for purchase online.

What’s the purpose of a bridal corset?

Bridal corsets or bustiers help support the bust and smooth the torso when you’re dressed in your bridal gown, but they can also be worn for your spouse’s eyes on the wedding night. Bridal corsets or bustiers are usually quite plain and unembellished, since they act as an undergarment, but a white corset or bustier used as lingerie will often have much more embellishments. These can include rhinestones, lace appliques or sheer panels that will add visual interest.

While it’s not hard to find a white corset that you can wear on your wedding day, maybe modern brides are opting not to wear white at all. If this is the case for you, you’ll be pleased to discover that the options for non-white corsets are pretty varied.

A whole new spectrum of colors is becoming popular in traditional weddings. While still pale and pleasant, these new colors allow an injection of personality to an event that can sometimes be whitewashed (excuse the pun.) Shades of gray, blush, periwinkle, mauve and buttercup are all surprisingly popular in otherwise very traditional weddings.

Those who are opting to go untraditional are using even more dramatic and vibrant colors, such as burgundy, black, gold and turquoise. These rich colors make for striking events and allow brides to be quite creative with their bridal undergarments.

Whether you wear all white or deepest black or somewhere in between, your wedding day is your own and it’s important to feel comfortable. Using a good quality corset, whether as an undergarment or as lingerie, will help give you more confidence when walking down the aisle. Read More....
